Guild Outing to Whitchurch Silk Mill – 9th July 2023

Details of the Guild summer outing to Whitchurch Silk Mill have been finalised and we just need your confirmation, choice of afternoon tea and your payment please. The final cost is £17.50 for adults or £16.50 for senior citizens.

Getting there

The coach option proved too expensive, so we are organising car shares instead. Please indicate on the form whether you are able to offer lifts and where from. Also indicate if you need a lift. We will then try to matchmake!

Directions to Whitchurch Silk Mill.

Timings

10.30am – meet at the Welcome Building, which also contains the Café and toilets N.B. café opens at 10.30am.

10.45am  – Mill Tour – 60-minute guided tour, visiting the waterwheel, seeing the Victorian machinery in use and the interactive exhibitions.

12.00 onwards –  buy lunch in the Café or bring your own to picnic in the gardens.  Choose which trail you’d like to explore on the day or relax in the grounds and rummage through the second-hand book stall (cash only). Or visit the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery which costs £20 and you will need to book this separately.

3.30pm – return to the Café for cream tea/cheeses scones before we part ways and head home. Please select sweet or savoury on the form.

More details of the Gin Distillery Tour, the 2 mile long Whitchurch village heritage trail and the  Mill Trail which is up to 7 miles and takes in 5 former mills along the river (shorter options available).
