Basketry Workshop & June 2024 Meeting

Learn to make a cane basket at June’s meeting, or just hang out with your guild friends for social crafting. Bring along your latest spinning, weaving or dyeing project to show off or to ask advice. TIME/FORMAT: 11.00am – 4.00pm
11.00 – 12:30 Craft and Chat for those not taking part in workshop
12:30 – 1:15 Informal lunch – bring your own
1.15 – 2.00 Show and Tell, Guild notices and discussions
2.00 – 3.30 More craft and chat or continue workshop
3.30 – 4.00 Raffle draw, workshop results, tidy up
Regular Features:
- Show and Tell – bring something you have recently finished or are still working on to share your progress.
- Sales Table – You are invited to bring craft related and other items for sale. Please, no jumble. 20% of sales goes to the Guild.
- Raffle – with craft related prizes.
LOCATION: Haddenham Village Hall, Banks Road, Haddenham, HP17 8EE

FACILITIES: Free Parking. Disabled access. WiFi. Teas/Coffee and Cake.
GUILD MEMBERS : Attendance is Free, small cost for the workshop materials if you’d like to join in. (Meetings attendance is included in annual membership fee)
VISITOR COST: £5.00 if just visiting or £15 to take part in workshop.
WORKSHOP: Basketmaking with Alison Jolley. Make a small project basket, with or without a handle, there could be a choice of designs if you’re feeling ambitious. Suitable for complete beginners and the more experienced.
What to bring:
– Garden snips if you have them, otherwise Alison will bring some to share.
that is snips and a spike. If you have your own snips, please bring them.
– A washing up bowl or the equivalent to hold water to soak the cane in.
– An apron if you don’t like getting wet.
– cash to cover materials cost; Alison will provide the cane.
