Dyeing for Sock Knitting – February 2025 meeting

Talk: spinning and dyeing for sock knitting with Alison C
During the pandemic Alison expanded her sock knitting passion to spinning her own and dyeing her own sock yarn. She experimented with a number of techniques for dyeing self-striping yarns, dyeing up spinning fibre, and will be talking us through her processes.
Alison’s talk will take place after lunch, from 2pm, and whilst it is not a practical session, we understand you may feel inspired to try out some of techniques so we will have a ball-winder, swift and knitting machine on hand in case you want to create your own sock blanks (BYOY!) [ed: Bring your own yarn]
Regular Features:
- Social Crafting – bring your latest project to work on amongst fellow fibre fans.
- Show and Tell – bring something you have recently finished or are still working on to share your progress.
- Sales Table – bring your craft related items for sale. Please, no jumble. 20% of sales goes to the Guild.

If you are attending just the afternoon session, we would be grateful if you could arrive from 1.30pm for a 2.00pm start.
FACILITIES: Free Parking. The one way entrance to the parking is from Banks Road (for those of you with satnav, check as it could send you down Crossways!). WiFi. Disabled access. Teas/Coffees, Cakes and Biscuits.
GUILD MEMBERS : Free – meetings attendance is included in annual membership fee.
